Review: Sold to the Sheikh by Chloe Cox

I received no compensation from the author or publisher for this honest review.

SOLD TO THE SHEIKH is an emotional, erotic romance about finding a way to move on after heartbreak and love again. It contains mature themes and content perfect for fans of the Crossfire series and Fifty Shades of Grey, and at least one thing you should *not* try at home without a whole lot of practice first...

Stella Spencer is grateful for any job she can get after her divorce, even if it's at her friend's exclusive club. And Club Volare proves the perfect place to hide while she mends a shattered heart—until she interrupts an auction scene, and the powerful Sheikh Bashir al Aziz bin Said decides that Stella is the woman that he wants.

At Club Volare for one last wild weekend before his family requires him to settle down, Sheikh Bashir doesn't expect to find a woman he can trust, or a woman who challenges him. But Stella Spencer is a challenge, all right: both vulnerable and guarded, beautiful and insecure, and a closet submissive. But she's hiding something.

Stella is afraid to open her heart to love again after the way she's been hurt, but Sheikh Bashir wants to be the Dom to show her who she truly is—and Sheikh Bashir always gets what he wants.

My Thoughts

Overall Rating

Novel Breakdown

Characters: 4.5
This was my first time reading a book by Chloe Cox and it will not be my last. You really could feel Stella and Bashir through their words, actions and emotions. I was so engrossed in this pair that I finished this story in 2 hours.

Plot: 4
The plot was believable and the eventual resolution at the end, at least for me, was satisfying.

Flow: 5
Even though there are many moments where Stella has a running internal monologue about how she feels currently versus what happened in her past, the overall flow of the book went smoothly.

Believability: 3
I do feel that in some scenes the behavior of the main leads was a little far-fetched but not to the extent of killing my overall enjoyment of reading this story.

Sexual Tension: 5
For those who understand BDSM, the parts where Stella began to experience and enjoy her submissive nature were gratifying. It was not rushed but flowed nicely, especially when she realized what she wanted from the relationship.

Watching Bashir use his power of observation and knowledge of how to treat a submissive, brought an extra level of heat to the dom/sub scenes with him and Stella.

Romance: 4
The romantic times were woven nicely between the BDSM scenes and were nice to see.
